ProShares Trust’s board approved a Plan of Liquidation and Termination on 28 September 2026 for ten exchange-traded funds, according to a prospectus supplement filed with the SEC.

The funds

Nine of the funds list on NYSE Arca: ProShares Big Data Refiners ETF (DAT), Long Online/Short Stores ETF (CLIX), Metaverse ETF (VERS), MSCI Transformational Changes ETF (ANEW), On-Demand ETF (OND), S&P Kensho Cleantech ETF (CTEX), S&P Kensho Smart Factories ETF (MAKX), Smart Materials ETF (TINT) and Supply Chain Logistics ETF (SUPL). The tenth, ProShares Ultra Nasdaq Cybersecurity (UCYB), trades on the Nasdaq Stock Market.

Timetable

The supplement says 12 October is the last day the funds accept creation orders from authorised participants, and that date is also expected to be each fund’s last full day of trading. Trading is to be suspended after the close of business on 12 October. On or about 13 October, the funds are to begin liquidating their portfolios and stop being managed in line with their investment objectives.

There will be no secondary market for the shares between 13 October and the expected distribution date of 27 October. Any shares still outstanding will be automatically redeemed at net asset value, with the proceeds paid on or about the distribution date.

Why it matters

The batch removes ten products from US listings in a single step. Several of the strategies are thematic, covering the metaverse, cleantech, smart factories and supply chains. The filing does not give the funds’ assets.
