SEI enters the European ETF market with three active quant UCITS ETFs on Xetra
The QiM Global Momentum, Quality and Value Alpha funds trade in euros and sterling, each at 0.32% a year.
SEI’s first exchange-traded funds became available for trading on Deutsche Börse on Tuesday 27 October, marking the firm’s official entry into the European ETF market, according to the exchange.
The funds
The three actively managed UCITS ETFs are run by SEI’s in-house Quantitative Investment Management (QiM) team. The team uses a systematic, data-driven process built on factor-based stock selection in a global equity universe.
- The QiM Global Momentum Alpha UCITS ETF targets companies whose share prices and earnings are trending upwards. Tickers: TRNE in euros, TRND in sterling.
- The QiM Global Quality Alpha UCITS ETF picks companies for their profitability and the stability of their earnings. Tickers: QLYE in euros, QLYT in sterling.
- The QiM Global Value Alpha UCITS ETF seeks shares that look cheap on fundamental measures, and can change which factors it emphasises over time. Tickers: BRGE in euros, BRGN in sterling.
All six lines are accumulating, with product costs of 0.320% a year.
Segment size
With the listing, Deutsche Börse said its ETF and ETP segment comprised 3,040 ETFs, 206 ETCs and 361 ETNs. Its 30 September release had given a count of 2,999 ETFs.
Why it matters
Each fund has a sterling trading line as well as a euro line on Xetra. The funds add to the systematic active equity part of the UCITS ETF market.
